A Journey to God pack

This conversational resource is made up of a collection of readings and images which invite reflection on different aspects of a particular spiritual journey. The seven chosen themes, presented here in booklet form, have emerged from consideration of a famous Old Testament story where we read of the prophet Elijah going through a crisis of confidence and faith. Fleeing for his life into the desert, he gradually makes his way to Horeb, the mountain of God where he hopes to find answers and gain a new sense of direction.

This iconic narrative still echoes in the experience of many people today and so the invitation is given here to reflect and converse about different aspects of its perennial resonance. Because the events recorded in the story take place in a desert, this thematic pilgrimage may be particularly appropriate to groups during the Season of Lent, but it may be profitably used at any time of year.
